Science Fiction Horror Anthology: Call for Submissions

science fiction horror anthologyScience Fiction Horror Anthology: Call for Submissions

Fur Planet is seeking submissions of anthropomorphic science fiction horror short stories for an upcoming anthology. Despite what some people think, horror and science fiction have a lot in common.

From the moment that humans gazed up at the stars and realized there could be something out there with less-than-friendly intentions, the combination of genres was born.

All story submissions should have anthropomorphic animals as the primary characters. If you are unfamiliar with stories that include anthropomorphic characters, please check out FurPlanet (

Stories should contain and element of science fiction AND horror. There are a number of sub-genres within each primary genre, so blend two that work with your story.

Good movie examples of well combined science fiction horror include:

  • Alien
  • Event Horizon
  • Splice
  • Pitch black

Submissions should be between 5,000 and 12,000 words, although the editors may consider longer works in some instances. The editors are only seeking original, unpublished stories. Reprints will not be accepted.

Payment is set at ½ cent US per word.

The publisher purchases exclusive publication rights in print and electronic formats for a period of one year from the date of publication.

Deadline: 1st March 2016

Expected Publication Date: 22nd September 2016
